Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

For the traditional Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, held for the first time in the new Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, we developed a totally new multimedia tournament presentation incorporating video projections, light and sound design as well as interactive elements. It gave the tournament a modern and high quality aesthetic and “(…) fulfils the goals of the WTA to make women’s tennis even more appealing for spectators and set an example which will set new standards …” (Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, Daily News)

During match breaks spectators were able to see an interactive “audience match”. The 21 metre wide screen showed two spectator stands playing against each other. New here, the interface: both opposing stands were able to control the virtual tennis rackets with body movements alone. The “audience match” is a collective audience experience.

“The move of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix from the sedate town of Filderstadt into the modern Porsche Arena was a big challenge. To fulfil the responsibility of making a traditional tennis tournament a top event we, therefore, wanted only the best. The team at DEON proved that they belong to the elite and, with their ideas and, above all, their reliable implementation, they made an important contribution to the success of the venture.” Markus Günthardt, tournament director of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
